Part 2: Mixtures and Solutions

Students use separation techniques and knowledge of characteristic properties to determine how many components there are in a mixture.

2. Concepts

The characteristic properties of each component of a mixture can be used to help separate the mixture. For example, if one part of a mixture is magnetic, a magnet may be used to separate that component.
