Web Sites of Interest

Here are some great websites to help you out during your study of the Physics of Sound. Be sure to explore the sites identified as student-friendly before you send your students there.

Student Friendly Sites

Franklin Institute – Sound – Wired @ School
This site has wonderful diagrams to accompany basic explanations about sound, how we hear and music. Good site for teachers, too!

BrainPop
Select “sound” from the list of topics and watch the movie. Upper elementary and middle school students can learn how sound waves and water waves are different.

Science Court
Students select the sound activity. Try a couple of activities to answer a question in ”court” at the end of the experience.

Mad Science
Students can post questions or read answers to questions that other children have posted.
