Washington State Nuts & Bolts
Washington State Nuts and Bolts provides leadership and support to science materials center staff and volunteers for the purpose of sharing ideas, best practices, and resources. Our goal is to make science more meaningful, stimulating and interesting by providing every Washington teacher and student with the science kits and resources to support high levels of scientific inquiry.
Activities
- Promote high quality teaching and learning through a unique focus on the management of materials.
- Create opportunities for networking among educators and science materials staff with an interest in or responsibility for managing instructional materials in science and other subject areas through products and services such as a member database, and annual meetings.
- Create opportunities for professional development for science materials staff through partnership with Washington State LASER, Washington Science Teachers Association, and Washington State Nuts and Bolts.
- Develop partnerships with educators, professional organizations, and business/industry.
Membership
Membership is open to materials resource centers, Washington State LASER Alliances, individual patrons, and vendors.
Leadership Board
The Leadership Board will be comprised of five to seven members from around the state. All positions are voluntary and members shall serve without remuneration.
