The Northwest WA LASER Regional Alliance is an integral part of science education reform in the northwest corner of Washington State. We serve the NWESD 189 region, which includes the 5 most northwestern counties in the state: Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties, along with the Island and San Juan counties, made up of the San Juan Island group and Whidbey and Camano Islands in the north Puget Sound.
Our current membership is comprised of NWESD 189 and the following school districts:
- Bellingham
- Burlington-Edison
- Coupeville
- Ferndale
- LaConner
- Lake Stevens
- Lakewood
- Lummi Tribal School
- Lynden
- Meridian
- Mount Baker
- Mount Vernon
- Nooksack
- Oak Harbor
- Sedro-Woolley
- Stanwood-Camano
Our potential for growth is great and we hope to grow exponentially in the next few years. In addition to staff development, our Alliance supports the NWESD Science Materials Center Cooperative housed in Arlington, Washington, at English Crossing Elementary school in the Lakewood School District.
The Northwest LASER Alliance owes much of it's success to the Lakewood SD for generously donating the use of their spare portables on the English Crossing Elementary school campus to the Science Materials Center Cooperative.
For more informatrion, please visit our Northwest Alliance homepage at http://www.esd189.org/sciedrfm/LASER.html
