Washington State LASER, with support from The Boeing Company, announced the recipients of the 2006/2007 Science Education Advocate Awards. The Science Education Advocate awards go to five individuals, organizations, and/or project teams who exhibited outstanding advocacy for science education in the state of Washington by promoting the importance of science education among the general public and/or the education system.

Battelle will give $750,000 to enhance science education in Washington state. The gift will enable the Washington State Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) partnership to help school districts improve curriculum and instruction, and strengthen professional development in high schools over the next three years...through the National Academy for Curriculum Leadership (NACL), a nationally-recognized curriculum leadership program.
